Both our vets take great pride in keeping up to date in keeping with advances in veterinary techniques and pharmaceutical developments to ensure that the best treatment is on offer to your horse.
Dr Marc Auerbach CertEP DVM MRCVS - Practice Principal
Marc qualified as a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 1989 from the Veterinary School of the University of Ghent, Belgium. He went on to achieve the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Certificate in Equine Practice (RCVS CertEP) in 1996. Marc has worked in a number of practices including a placement at the Animal Health Trust, Newmarket as a resident Equine Vet, before establishing Oak Equine in 1998. Marc has a particular interest in orthopaedics and surgery. During his spare time he can be found riding one of his horses or taking his dog for a walk.
Dr Camilla Tveit CertEP DVM MRCVS - Assistant Veterinary Surgeon
Camilla attained her DVM from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in 1999 and achieved the RCVS CertEP in 2007. Before joining Oak Equine in 2002 Camilla had worked in both mixed and purely equine practices. Camilla's areas of interest include equine medicine and breeding. During her spare time Camilla regularly visits the gym and enjoys spending time with her horse.
Veterinary Nurses
Julie McMillan - Nurse/Administrative Assistant
Julie joined Oak Equine in June 2007. She has recently qualifeid as an AMTRA SQP. She has also completed her BHS stages I and II, NVQ level II and III in horse care and management. Julie started with us as a groom but in June 2009 changed job roles and now carries out most of the nursing and some of the admin work. Julies favourite part of the job is the breeding season.
Support Staff
Mary Bates - Head of Accounts
Mary joined us in 2006 taking over the practice accounts as well as assisting with general office duties. She has previous experience of working for both small animal and equine veterinary practices. Mary is married with two children and breeds Flat Coated Retrievers (Ruby from 2007s litter has won Best Puppy in Breed at Crufts 2008). In her spare time she enjoys helping her daughter at competitions with her horses.
Mary assists with nursing duties as and when required and is part of the on call nursing rota.
